Funding is available via the INSPIRE consortium to enable access to national equipment and infrastructure and for attendance at workshops and courses including those on the www.flexilearn.ie portal. Applications are also welcome from those who wish to organise an event or research collaboration that facilitates mobility of postgraduate students.
Applications can include funding for travel, accommodation and subsistence as well as equipment costs and consumables. Note that the HEA has published national guidelines for access to research infrastructure along with a Research Equipment Database http://www.hea.ie/content/large-items-research-equipment-database. Students wishing to apply for funding should review these guidelines, complete the application form and submit this to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications can be submitted at any time but please note that research placement applications are reviewed on a monthly basis and placements can be up to one month in duration.
The INSPIRE national graduate research education programme is funded under the framework of the Irish Government’s Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions Cycle 5, National Development Plan 2007-2013 with the assistance of the European Regional Development Fund.
