Graduate education programmes offer postgraduate students a structured doctoral education which is primarily research based but also encompasses flexible taught courses in technical and transferrable skills, delivered across institutions. A catalogue of modules has been compiled on flexilearn.ie drawing on the strengths of partnering institutions and pooling the combined scientific and pedagogical expertise of each contributor into a single offering to students. The module offering covers postgraduate courses in technical or discipline-specific topics as well as transferable skills such as communication skills and business related courses in innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship. The modules are offered via Graduate Research Education Programmes and inter-intuitional Masters programmes.
The Graduate Research Education Programmes are funded by the HEA under the framework of the Irish Government’s Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions Cycle 5, National Development Plan 2007-2013 with the assistance of the European Regional Development Fund.
